Great stuff! A good way to get faster is to hang around with the fastest people… I learned a lot once just because a high level racer had to change a cylinder and he let me sneak a peak inside his crankcase while it was opened up. Be safe and have fun! 👍🏼👍🏼

It might be faster if you double wall the exhaust. It will increase the temperature due to the air insulation which can cause the exhaust gasses to flow faster.

Alex, you said on the video “it seems like we get one good run and then the pipe breaks”. Do you think these things, and the issue with starting the engine, are all related? Put another way, is a part-broken exhaust giving you a good run, and then the exhaust breaks in half and it is game over?

There is a comment on here about knee shelves, which i cannot find. I think this, combined with foot rests that point the riders toes backwards will help with aero. Pilots feet are like boat paddles, very noticeable when he mounts the bike without gear. Eta 45:06 for foot view

Try a few less teeth in the rear chain sprocket, it seems like it has enough torque but has already reached highest rpm

Put a rubber or silicone coupler in the exhaust between the head pipe and the rear section.

I built a bike like this. You're gonna want to add platforms for your knees to rest your weight on. Trust me, it will make a huge difference in handling.

You have to mount the exhaust with two springs holding it to the head because the resinance will break a solid mounting .A small flange on the exhaust port weld on piece of tube for mounting inside the expansion chamber ,and two springs attached to the head and the other end to the expansion chamber ! Problem solved .Its common practice on racing two strokes and 4 stroke racers

I'm a little confused though, I must have missed the right part of the video. Are you just testing first gear? Isn't the 50cc record over 200kph?

please please please add a airbox or 90 degree bend on that carb intake, even a large filter with the back blocked off so it will ram air in, now the faster you go the more venturie effect you will get making it harder for the engine to get the air in. I had problems like this with open carbs on a straight 4 , a wee cross wind gave me power loss and cutting out. please ram that air in there!!!!

After watching most of your videos if you want the bike to last more than one or two runs all engine components will have have to be made of titanium.

I may be completely dumb asking this but is there any possibility of running a short piece of flexible exhaust tubing like they do on cars in order to handle the vibrations? Either the woven type or the corrugated type.

So I assume your looking at beating the German Kreidler 50 cc World record.I purchased a Kreidler second hand, it would thump anything Japanese up to 125 cc . It started my Pro motorcycle racing career of 15 years 😁😁👍👍

If I was allowed to join your team my advice would be….a treadmill strarter for testing and bump start on the salt plus a pressurized fuel tank like on a camp lantern and to always run the tank dry.

Witam taka moja bardzo mała i skrona sugestia co do zakładania nowego tłoka. Bardzo możliwe że taki proces już przeszedł ale jeśli nie to proponuję najpierw go wygotować w tym oleju którym jest smarowany kilka razy tak żeby aluminium które jest strukturą porowatą mogło przy podgrzaniu zaciągnąć olej i przy powolnym ostudzeniu zatrzymało ten olej w sobie. Po tych procesach należy ponownie sprawdzić spasowanie tłok cylinder podgrzewając go do temperatury pracy. Jeśli wymiar tłoka się zwiększy a prawdopodobnie tak będzie należy ten luz zwiększyć. Jeśli sami panowie odlewacie te tłoki to dobym dodatkiem do stopu odlewanego tłoka jest tytan który zmniejsza ziarno ziarno i poprawia jego właściwości termiczne (tłok poprostu jest dużo mocniejszy i mniej puchnie w wysokiej temperaturze). Trochę się rozpisałem pewnie nie potrzebnie ale chciałem w jakiś sposób pomóc bo oglądam i podziwiam Pana zaangażowanie i ciężką pracę pozdrawiam serdecznie

Hi loving the effort all u guys put into your quest for the record. We had the same problems with our RC boats cracking the exhaust pipe. Our fix was to have a flexable joiner on the header pipe to the pipe, we used silcon hose with an inner tube same diameter as the header and had different lengths to help with tuning. Our extended length of 52mm was the sweet spot for our set up. We also changed our mount to the end of the pipe on the small pipe diameter with a flexable mount to help with vibrations, no more crack pipes. hope this is useful. GO FOR MAN!!!!

at 25 minutes...I would have bet my life savings on it being Dons finger in the carb venturi being what made the engine rev cleanly and not the fuel line flexing trick. That was pretty interesting !!
